School Nutrition Heroes!

North Platte Public Schools asks for the community's help to honor School Nutrition Heroes!

National School Breakfast Week is March 7-11

In honor of National School Breakfast Week (Mar 7-11), the Nebraska Student Nutrition Action Committee (SNAC) is hosting an event to honor school nutrition professionals statewide. North Platte Public Schools is joining the event and asking community members to share short notes of thanks and gratitude for our nutrition staff’s great work at this webpage.

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, school nutrition professionals have served remote meals, adapted plans, and made deliveries to make sure our kids have the food they need no matter their circumstances. This year, they are working day in and day out to provide healthy and nutritious meals to students all while dealing with supply chain disruptions, food shortages, and staffing challenges. They are truly heroes!

Share a note to thank staff for their work. Individuals and staff that have comments submitted about them will be sent the comments on School Lunch Heroes Day 2022 (May 6) and will also receive a certificate and gift. Submissions and stories will be highlighted at the Nebraska SNAC webpage and through the Nebraska Department of Education’s Nutrition Services Facebook page in April and May.

We hope you join us in this opportunity to celebrate the hard work and dedication of our School Nutrition Heroes through this statewide event!
